FC Dallas gave their playoff hopes a much-needed boost on Sunday, crushing their Texas derby rivals Houston Dynamo 5-1 to move into the seventh spot in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference standings. Zdenek Odransek scored twice (56′ and 64′) to lead The Hoops charge. Reto Ziegler (24′), Jesus Ferreira (29′), and Michael Barrios (90+6′) added goals of their own giving Dallas a season-best five goals on the night. Houston’s lone goal came from Memo Rodriguez in the 80th minute.
