FC Dallas 1- San Jose Earthquakes 3
San Jose Earthquakes supporters have been looking for a glimmer of hope that 2018 would not be a complete wash. They may have found it on Saturday night in Dallas. Thanks to a pair of second half goals the Quakes earned just their third win of the season in a 3-1 win over FC Dallas.
Vako gave the Quakes an early 1-0 lead with his goal in the 19th minute. But the Dallas attack struck back immediately with a goal of their own with Roland Lamah scoring his eighth of the season in the 23rd minute. In the second half San Jose wasted little time to re-take the lead with Jahmir Hyka making it 2-1 in the 47th minute. Dallas nearly found the equalizer on several occasions but San Jose put the match away with scoring his second of the match in the 88th minute his sixth of the season.
With the win San Jose earned just their third win of the season (3-12-7, 16 points) and their first win against a side not named Minnesota United FC dating back to a September 2017. As for Dallas (12-4-6, 42 points) the loss did not affect their first place standing in the Western Conference but with the Portland Timbers (10-3-7, 37 points) and Sporting Kansas City (10-6-6, 36 points) winning their lead dropped to five and six points respectively.
