Los Angeles 3 – Philadelphia 0
While the Philadelphia Phillies stayed dry and rescheduled their rained out game with a Sunday double header, the Union (with its damp followers) proceeded to play Los Angeles, a game that might have best been watched in a living room. Ibrahimovic — with his Samson-like man bun — certainly was a presence. But truth be told, his goal in the 63rd minute may have been aided by a screen by the Union’s Auston Trusty that blocked the view of the Union keeper, Andre Blake. Ibrahimovic’s through pass minutes earlier to Ola Kamara, however, was a gem, leaving Blake defenseless and exposed for the score.
Speaking about Blake, he had a number of special saves, despite both the score and weather. The Union faithful know how good he is.
Union fans may have been comforted by C.J. Sapong’s goal in the 29th minute. A closer look suggests that Sapong may have been a tad lucky in nudging the ball over the back leg of David Bingham, the Galaxy’s keeper. C.J. is still searching for his timing, although the Union also used him as a thorn in –Ibrahimovic’s side near the Union goal on set pieces.
