The Los Angeles Galaxy went to the University of Denver to rebuild its roster through the MLS Superdraft.
Both of the Galaxy’s two selections back on Thursday’s Superdraft came from the Denver Pioneers. The Galaxy opted for versatility with its first round selection, then going for offense in its second round. The Galaxy passed on its third round selection.
The Galaxy selected Josh Drack with the 16th pick in the first round. Drack, who started at Grand Canyon University in his home state of Arizona before transferring to Denver. During the 2019 season, Drack scored 13 points on five goals and three assists in 21 games, which he all started. All together, Drack scored a total of 11 goals and 10 assists during his three-year college career.
Drack’s versatility however was a drawing point for the Galaxy. Drack, who played as a forward in college, played as a left back during the Sporting Kansas City College Invitational Combine in November and is expected to play that position for the Galaxy.
The Galaxy once again went to the University of Denver for its second round pick, as they chose high-scoring forward Preston Judd with the 35th pick. Judd has been a scoring machine in his three years in Denver, scoring an astounding 29 goal during his run. The highlight was his sophomore season, where he led the Western Athletic Conference with 15 goals scored.
