Coming off an important win in this young season, the Los Angeles Galaxy look to keep the good vibes coming in another big match.
The Galaxy host Sporting Kansas City, and LA Is definitely hoping to deliver a result similar to its last match, when it rode Alan Gordon’s first half strike and Jaime Penedo’s 10-save performance to a 1-0 win over the Seattle Sounders. The win was the Galaxy’s first since opening week. LA got the win despite missing striker Robbie Keane, who missed the game due to a groin issue and his status for Saturday night’s game remains in question.
This is Sporting Kansas a City’s first year in the Western Conference since 2004, and right now, the transition from the Eastern Conference to the much tougher Western Conference hasn’t been bad at all for the team. SKC is tied with San Jose and Real Salt Lake for third in the conference, and the Galaxy are just a point behind the three teams. Kansas City though has been hit by the injury bug to defenders Ike Opara (Achilles Tendon), Chance Myers (left Achilles) and midfielder Seth Sinovic.
