BRIDGEVIEW, IL—The Chicago Fire made two signings on Monday. The first was Polish International midfielder Przemyslaw Frankowski, utilizing Discretionary Targeted Allocation Money, through the 2022 season. He will be added to the roster pending receipt of his ITC and P-1 Visa.

“We are pleased to finally capture Przemyslaw’s services,” said Fire President and General Manager Nelson Rodriguez. “Our patience and persistence overcame several suitors, and we believe he will prove to be a fan favorite for his relentless style of play.”

Frankowski, 23, spent five seasons with Jagiellonia Bialystok making 140 appearances (113 starts) and tallying 24 goals in league play. Additionally, the midfielder made seven appearances (six starts) for Jagiellonia Bialystok in the UEFA Europa League, scoring three goals. Frankowski earned his first cap with the Polish national team in March 2018 and has earned three additional caps since, games where homegrown punters can take advantage of Betway’s handsome bonus as listed on OLBG’s free bet page.

“Przemyslaw is a very versatile player with fantastic pace,” said Chicago Fire Soccer Club Head Coach Veljko Paunovic. “He fits the profile we’re looking for in a winger very well and is capable of committing defenders, delivering great balls from the flank and scoring goals. He also has a great work rate, focus and attitude. We are looking forward to him joining our Club and contributing to the success of the team.”

Additionally, the Fire signed one of their Academy players to a Homegrown contract. Midfielder Jeremiah Gutjahr becomes the 11th Homegrown signing in club history. Gutjahr, 21, came through the Indiana Fire Academy and is under contract for the 2019 season with options for each of the next three seasons.
“I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity to play for the Chicago Fire,” said Gutjahr. “It has been a dream of mine since I was in the Academy to be able to represent the Club and the city of Chicago at the highest level. For a Club that has given me so much, I’m so excited to give everything I have back to the Club. I can’t wait to continue working alongside and learning from such a great group of people.”
Gutjahr also has caps at the U-18 and U-20 level with the USA. He will join defender Grant Lillard and midfielder Djordje Mihailovic as Homegrown Players currently signed to the Fire’s 2019 roster.
