More national television appearances for the Fire this season.

CHICAGO, IL—Major League Soccer has released the fixture list for the 2020 season and in the case of Chicago Fire FC, their 23rd season. It is a 34-match fixture list with each team playing teams within their conference home and away, plus ten matches against non-conference opponents. That means that fans will not see three teams on their schedule. In the case of the Fire, those are Nashville SC, Houston Dynamo, and Real Salt Lake.

It has already been announced that they will open at defending champion Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday, March 1st (2pm CT, ESPN), then travel New England six days later (12:30pm CT), and that the home opener would be on Saturday, March 21st against Atlanta United (2:30pm, Univision). The season concludes October 4th at Philadelphia.

There will be a third road match before that home game in Orlando on March 14th. The Fire will play Inter Miami at Soldier Field on May 9th (2pm, ABC) and at the site of the former Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on June 20th (7pm, UniMas).

Both LA teams will come to Soldier Field this season with LAFC coming April 25th (2:30pm, Univision) and LA Galaxy coming August 9th (5:30pm, FS1).

All but three home games for the moment will be on Saturday or Sunday. The schedule could change depending on when the Bears make their schedule for 2020.

Compared to previous years, the Fire will make more national television appearances. They will make four appearances on Univsion, two each on UniMas and ESPN, and one each on ABC and FS1. It will be the Fire’s first appearance on ABC since 2006.

The Fire’s longest home stand will be four games from June 27th to July 11th while there are a trio of three-game road trips during the season.

The Fire begin their 23rd season on Sunday, March 1st at defending champion Seattle Sounders FC, where the Fire have never won, with a 2pm CT kickoff on ESPN.
