Ottawa, ON – Fury earns only one point at TD Place last evening, in front of their fans and showed a great performance facing the Birmingham Legion FC.
In the first part of this match, the team of the Canadian Capital were more dominant with ball possession, but Callum Irving becomes a hero on the the arc on a couple of occasions, cheered on by an especially enthusiastic group of yougsters on the sidelines, which went on until the very last minute of the match: Goalkeeper with out luck, is not a Goalkeeper!!!
Also, Van Oekel saved the Legion from the Ontario’s usual suspects, Oliveira and Francois who is very fast when he is playing on the left side. Newcomer, Hadji Barry, also had a really good performance getting a couple of good opportunities for Ottawa.
The team of Ontario have to keep focus on their next match which is right around the corner, Nikola Popovic surely is thinking how to welcome the Former MLS Champion and current Canadian Champion.
About this next match, Greg Vanney is known to play with his new talents with an injection of some from his main roaster. We have to remember that two years ago, the Reds lost in the 1st leg of the Canadian Championship against Ottawa. Situation which pushed the coach originally from Virginia, to integrate in the 2nd leg the best elements from his roaster like The Man of New Jersey, Jozy Altidore and the Italian star, Sebastian Giovinco.
