After the final whistle of the match between the Houston Dynamo and the Portland Timbers, Houston defender and Honduras National team captain Maynor Figueroa received devastating news. His father, who was suffering from a terminal illness, passed away.

His Dynamo and National Team teammate Oscar Bonniek Garcia was the person who told him the news right after the referee blew the whistle to end the match. Figueroa was part of the starting eleven for the Orange and played all 90-minutes.

After learning the news, he left the field in shock and was accompanied by his teammates to the locker room. Obviously devastating news for everyone in the Dynamo organization.
