Inter Miami CF 3-2 Chicago Fire

A stoppage time goal by Rodolfo Pizzaro gave Inter Miami a 3-2 win over Chicago Fire FC at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. The Fire’s road winless streak extends to eighteen games (0-12-6).

Indiana Vassilev opened the scoring in the 34th minute after Bobby Shuttleworth made the initial save on Robbie Robinson. The Fire equalized off a corner kick six minutes later as Francisco Calvo headed in from six yards out. Luka Stojanovic gave the Fire the advantage in the 47th minute after receiving a pass from Stanislav Ivanov.

However, the Herons’ designated players would enter the picture for good in the second half. Gonzalo Higuain fed Robinson for the equalizer in the 62nd minute. Higuain would then feed Victor Ulloa who laid it off to Pizzaro for the winner in the third minute of stoppage time to give Inter Miami the win.

The Fire travel to Orlando on Saturday at 7pm CT (WGN-TV) in the hopes of ending their road dry spell in the place they last won on the road.

They had numerous chances to find a winner–especially two late chances for Mallory Pugh–but were unable to seal all three points as both of Pugh’s chances wide of the net.
