Prost Amerika’s book about the Portland Timbers 2015 season, Cup Bound & Crowned, has returned to its place at the top of the Powells Best Sellers List.
Having first shot to top place upon the announcement of pre-sales, the book has returned to the top now that it is physically on sale.
The 20 chapter book contains 40,000 words of coverage, great photos and designs by Brent Diskin.
There are chapters aplenty about that amazing weekend in Columbus, the inside story of the log drama and personality profiles of some of the leading characters in the Portland soccer life, not to mention how EPIC the drum sneaked its way into the stadium while the Crew stadium authorities were on ‘log watch’.
There is a guest chapter by veteran BBC journalist Richard Fleming on How the West was Won and Roger Anthony honors the 1975 Timbers in another. There are personality profiles of some of the leading lights in the city and a beautiful portrait of Portland’s South American players in his chapter Portland’s Heart beats to Latin Rhythms.
The authors of the book have engaged the city too with book signing events in Portland all week with at least one every night for the rest of February.

Portland Timbers’ season start on March 6 when the host the side they defeated in last year’s final Columbus Crew.
Last night, they played Cascadia rivals Vancouver Whitecaps in a preseason match with the Canadian side running out 0-2 winners, courtesy of goals from new signing Blas Perez and Octavio Rivero.
