Early in the season for midfielder Cristhian Paredes aware of the challenges it pose for him to earn a spot in the starting eleven in this 2019. This comes after last season debut where he made an impact as a starter after displaying his skills and abilities.

Suddenly his vanishing from the Timbers starting lineup as well in the eighteen in 2018.

In this 2019 the Portland Timbers along its manager Giovanni Savarese are betting on youth and among one of those in the Rose City side plans is the likes of Cristhian Paredes.

Before the start of the season the team announced that T2 prospects Marvin Loria and Renzo Zambrano, getting the call into the big team adding more competition in the midfield. In addition of the competition against mainstay Diego Chara and David Guzman.

Suddenly for David Guzman not having a stellar start in the first matches its when Cristhian Paredes getting the nod and the man deliver in his performance that earn him a starting spot.

With David Guzman leaving to reunite with his former manager Caleb Porter in Columbus, the opportunity arose for Paredes and the man so far is earning the trust of his manager with notable performances.

With a whopping eight starts in this 2019 and regained the trust of his manager Cristhian Paredes so far has been important in the Portland Timbers season.

No wonder he caught the attention from one of Mexico’s top rated clubs.

In this season Paredes has averaged eight starts, one assist, two goals and 629 minutes in the field with just one yellow card, showing off an immaculate game.

Still we have quite a ways and in this edition for Timbers manager Giovanni Savarese its always making it a contest to earn your starting spot. This is something that Cristhian Paredes has embraced the challenges of the competition internally and showing off in every game.

So far, he has earned the trust of his manager as well being a huge contributor that has delivered with a couple of goals scored in this season.

This time he is displaying a top notch game and adapting to the game scheme and formations that so far manager Savarese has put in play this season. In addition of his work side to side with Diego Chara is something that is getting high marks in his game plan.

By seeing a total improvement and character in the field and becoming a dependable player on either in defense or in the offensive attack. If he continues playing like that, the man will become unmovable in the starting eleven.

My conclusion is that Cristhian Paredes is ready for prime time and undoubtedly he will become an important referential in the defensive midfield of the Portland Timbers.
