The Columbus Crew and the Chicago Fire are both showing serious interest for 23 year old Polish winger Przemyslaw Frankowski. Link.
With a large Polish population Chicago is not much a surprise.
Chicago has already been after Polish National Team stalwart Jakub Blaszczykowski in recent history. Blaszczykowski likely opted correctly to stay in the Bundesliga before the World Cup with Wolfsburg.
Columbus could use Frankowski more for his ability.
Berhalter more so likely wants to solidify the other side of the wing across from Pedro Santos.
Instead of the position being up for grabs game by game between Martinez, Hansen, and whoever else.
Frankowski would certainly do that.
The Polish winger in addition is in the running to be involved in the World Cup for Poland. He is in the provisional 35 man roster training currently in Poland.
However with Grosicki, Blaszczykowski, Zielinski, Linetty, and perhaps others ahead of him in the midfield may be a tough ask to break into the 23 man squad this time.
Frankowski nevertheless could squeeze in as the 5th or 6th midfield option depending on how manager Adam Nawalka feels about Krychowiak, Rybus, Peszko, etc.
