In the week leading up to Charlotte FC’s match with Nashville SC, there has been some big news around the club.
The first of the news is that winger Kerwin Vargas has signed a contract extension with the club.

Vargas joined the club in its inaugural season, playing in 13 matches and recording an assist. In the 2023 season, Vargas established himself as an integral piece to the club, making 29 appearances and starting in 19 of those on his way to nine goal contributions, four goals and five assists. So far this season, Vargas has appeared in and started 10 of the 11 matches and has scored a pair of goals.
The other news that has been reported on about the club is the departure of striker Enzo Copetti.
It has been reported that Copetti will be returning to his home country of Argentina, signing with Rosario Central.

Copetti joined Charlotte FC from Racing Club in the winter transfer window following the 2022 season as a designated player. In his first season with the club Copetti scored six goals and recorded two assists in 26 appearances.
The move back to Argentina comes after a disappointing start to the season that saw Copetti score just one goal and record one assist in nine appearances.
The departure of Copetti should mean an active summer transfer window for Charlotte, who could bring in not just one, but two new designated players to join the squad.
