Charlotte FC defeat rival Nashville SC in a 1-0 defensive battle

Charlotte FC continued their home form, picking up another three points with a 1-0 win over Nashville SC.

Charlotte was led to victory by stellar defensive play, notably the play of Andrew Privett, who was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday.

Charlotte allowed just six shots to Nashville, only three of which were on target with just 0.3 expected goals. Two of Nashville’s three shots on target came in the first half but did not pose much of a threat to Charlotte.

Charlotte’s attack wasn’t anything too spectacular, but they did create more take more shots and put more shots on target than their defense allowed. The lone goal of the match was scored early in the second half by Patrick Agyemang.

The match was very defensive from both sides, having a combined total of 14 shots, seven of which were on goal for a total of one total expected goal. Charlotte was able to control the match for the most part and held possession for 53.1 percent of the match.

Charlotte FC’s next match is on the road against Chicago Fire FC on Wednesday, May 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EST and is available to watch on Apple TV.
