Charlotte FC officially completed the signing of Israeli winger Liel Abada from Celtic FC of the Scottish Premier League.

The 22-year-old is a record transfer fee for Charlotte with a reported fee of around $8 million.
Abada recorded 29 goals and 22 assists across 112 appearances in all competitions for Celtic, including a pair of 10 goal season in the Scottish Premier League and was named PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year for the 2021/22 season.
Abada is joining Charlotte as a young designated player, filling one of the two remaining designated player spots after the offseason departures of Karol Świderski and Kamil Jóźwiak.
Charlotte sits with four points through two games in the MLS regular season, putting them at seventh in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte FC plays Toronto FC on the road for their next match on Saturday, March 9, kicking off at 2:00 p.m. EST at BC Place and streaming on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
