42′ GOAL Kianz Froese benefited from Mattocks’ dodgy control, chipping in from close range. Quick passing play saw Nicolas Mezquida slide in Mattocks, whose terrible control allowed Froese to tidy up for his first Champions League goal.
45′ Darren Mattocks stole in front of the defender, turned on goal but failed to find the target with a wayward blast.
60′ Nicolas Mezquida had an opportunity to extend the Whitecaps lead after some industrious work down the wing from Mattocks. The Jamaican found Mezquida in the area but the Uruguayan skewed his effort wide.
68’ Mattocks took a knock in the second half and had to be replaced by Canadian Marco Bustos.
Kianz Froese took the man of the match award for his match winning performance. His side now lead their CONCACAF Champions League group with 4 points from 2 matches ahead of Seattle by goal difference.
