The new Canadian Premier League takes a big step forward this week when the first draft takes place. Seven clubs starting with Calgary based Cavalry FC will select players in a prearranged order. Winnipeg’s Valour FC will select second followed by Forge (Hamilton, ON), York 9 (York, ON), HFX Wanderers (Halifax NS), Pacific (Langford BC) and FC Edmonton.
The draft will take place in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia’s Thunderbird Stadium. On Sunday evening, the seven clubs took part in a randomized lottery system to determine the draft order which you see below.
Then Edmonton will have a second pick as the clubs select in reverse order.
