Ottawa, ON – A distinct difference from men’s Soccer, The Canadian women are better classified into the FIFA ranking.
The Scratch Du Oro are in the 7th position where Canada is in 5th.
In front 16,128 spectators, the Canadian National Team were able to win over the Carioca Team.
The local group were always well organized, from the arc to the midfield up to the front line, were looking in the first 45 minutes to create the spaces to filter the maximum of balls through.
Stephanie Labbé, with the jersey #1, was in the door having a great performance, she stopped all the hard shots from Brazil.
Alicia Chapman, Jurdyn Huitema, Kadeisha Buchanan and Sophie Schmidt made magnificent team work.
Mr. goal appears at the beginning of the 2nd time, by none other than the striker Nichelle Prince.
After the goal, the verde amarella tried to react, they fought hard to equalize, but their rivals were very attentive in each movement of the visitor.
This friendly international match was refereed by the Mexican, Francia González, with a performance balanced a little bit in favor of the local group.
This encounter was a great rematch to Rio 2016, where Canada won 2-1.
What a great group of young women, both Canada and Brazil fans got to enjoy some great soccer on this Labor Day long weekend.
