Bye, Borrero rewarded with Team of the Matchday 2 honors

FOXBOROUGH, MA– Following the New England Revolution’s 3-0 victory over Houston Dynamo FC in their MLS home opener, defender Brandon Bye and midfielder/forward Dylan Borrero have made the MLS Team of the Week!

New England Revolution right back Brandon Bye obtained a starting position in the MLS Team of the Matchday 2 following his stellar performance on March 4th to a 13,000+ crowd at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. 27-year-old Bye played the full 90 minutes finished the match with joint man of the match honors with an 8.5 match rating according to Fotmob. Offensively, Bye had 1 goal on 2 shot attempts (100% accuracy). Bye also was credited with an assist in the Revolution’s opening goal where midfielder/forward Dylan Borrero found the back of the net. The defender also went 31/45 (69%) on accurate passes throughout the match with 0/3 accuracy on long balls (0%) along with 67 total touches and 2 passes in the final third. Bye defensively was 1/1 (100%) on tackles won with 1 block, 2 clearances (2 of which were headed clearances), and 2 recoveries. He went 4/4 (100%) on ground duels and was 4/6 (67%) on aerial duels won.

Along with Bye, New England Revolution midfielder/forward Dylan Borrero managed to make a substitute appearance in the MLS Team of the Matchday 2 following his fantastic performance. 22-year-old Borrero managed to play 69 minutes and obtained a 7.8 match rating according to Fotmob. Offensively, Borrero had 1 goal on 3 total shots (100% accuracy). Along with the goal, Borrero was also involved in Brandon Bye’s goal in the match with a fantastic play where he turned two defenders and his cross found Bobby Wood and then was finished by Brandon Bye. He was credited with 1 assist. In the attack, Borrero went 22/27 (81%) on accurate passes with 1 chance created. He managed 45 touches with 1/1 successful dribbles (100%). His passes in the final third tallied 4 with 2/4 (50%) accurate crosses and 1/1 (100%) accurate long balls. He managed to get dispossessed 2 times throughout the match and was noted as an offensive threat that Houston’s defense could not handle according to the MLS Apple TV broadcast. Defensively, Borrero had 0 tackles won with 6 recoveries. He went 3/7 (43%) on ground duels won and had 0 aerial duels won.
