Eintracht was riding high after beating Mainz in the Pokal and despite squad rotation never was the result in doubt. Hoffenheim has been going through a lot of struggles but against the Carnival club of Mainz they finally got back to winning way. 4-2 was a fun filled match Mainz showing life after exiting the Pokal just did not look up to the task. Pairs of goals from Adam Szalai and Andrej Kramaric showed that Hoffenheim will not just fade into the background.
Bayern faced off in a traditional big Saturday match and it turned out to be a rather testing one for themselves. With all goals coming in the first half Schalke answered an early goal only to fall 2-1. The likes of Breel Embolo and Bayern bound Leon Goretzka forced the champions to fight back. With the Champions League coming up this happened at the best time to be in top shape.
The Rest of the Bundesliga
Werder Bremen pulled another rabbit out of their hat Weser side. 3-1 winners against fellow relegation struggles Wolfsburg helps their survival hopes.
Stuttgart survival was improved as they pulled out a 1-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach, here’s hoping this traditional side will not leave us.
RB Leipzig continued their upwards recovery after falling behind by dispatching fellow European chaser FC Augsburg 2-0.
Borussia Dortmund kept the fears of all HSV fans alive, 2-0 at Signal Iduna Park. Sitting 17th in the table will make any fan of the only erstwhile top flight club worried.
Hertha BSC came out 2-0 victors over Bayer Leverkusen. The Capital Club has been a yo-yo this season but are within touching distance of Europe so the mid table dullness has not set in.
Hannover has had a busy week as part owner Martin Kind dropped his application for a full take over. 50+1 still holds and so did 96 as they won 2-1 at home to Freiburg.
