Bou Awaits Green Card as Revs Continue Preseason

FOXBOROUGH, MA–New England Revolution international & designated forward Gustavo Bou has yet to join the team in preseason as he is awaiting the arrival of his U.S. Green card. Gustavo, who has been training alone in Concordia, Entre Rios, Argentina stated in translation on January 6th, “Here they await for the process of the green card, hopefully it will come out quickly! I want to go back to start!”.

Since this message, Gustavo had been posting videos of intense training on his Instagram stories along with family posts, training images, images with a club he owns and visits to his old stomping grounds at River Plate in Argentina.

In a follow up message on February 2nd, Gustavo once again stated, “I’m still awaiting the papers and do not know when they will come out but I’m excited to return”.

Gustavo had previously stated that he remains focused on 2023 in New England and his sights are set directly on returning and supporting the team in any possible way to win a trophy. The team opened their seven-week preseason on Monday, January 9th at the Socios.com Training Center in Foxborough, MA and have currently been training together as a unit since that date with late arrivals from brothers Carles Gil (U.S. Green Card) & Nacho Gil (P-1 Visa Renewal).

On January 29th, the team began their 3-week-trip to Florida that is set to feature 5 scrimmages against Major League Soccer opponents. The first against Inter Miami (Feb. 2) finished in a 2-2 draw and 2-0 defeat to the Philadelphia Union (Feb. 5). The team is still set to play Nashville SC (Feb. 10), FC Cincinatti (Feb. 14), and Orlando City SC (Feb. 18).
