Inter Miami star Ben Sweat is delighted to be back on the grass and working hard ahead of the potential return of the MLS season.
The current campaign is on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic but the League and its clubs are working towards a return in some form.
Ahead of that potential return, players are back training with clubs holding voluntary workouts.
And getting back on the grass has been a relief for Inter defender Sweat.
“It’s amazing to be back and to get started,” he said. “We have been training back home for a month, using whatever kind of space we have.
“We were working hard and it was a grind but it’s better to be out here with familiar faces, working, getting on the grass and putting out boots on.

“It’s been tremendous, we are working just as hard out here and getting back into the swing of things.”
Sweat says Diego Alonso and his coaching staff have not been taking it easy on their players despite being away from football for around two months.
“They are just as intense as they were in pre-season,” the former NYCFC defender added. “They want us to work hard and they want us to be ready.
“When we get back to it, we want to start off fast so we want to keep up our tempo and our philosophy at the club.
“They have been kicking our butts out here and we have enjoyed it.”
