Let it be known that Dario Lezcano of FC Ingolstadt was the first player to score against Bayern Munich this season. However, the joy of being ahead of Bayern lasted just four minutes and then two second half goals put the match on ice as Bayern began Oktoberfest with a 3-1 win to maintain their 100% record.
Ingolstadt’s goal came on a counter attack in the 8th minute where Matthew Leckie fed Lezcano who slotted past Manuel Neuer for a surprise lead. That lead lasted just four minutes, though, as Arturo Vidal picked off a ball in the Ingolstadt third. Franck Ribery then sent it to Robert Lewandowski who looped the ball past Orjan Nyland to make it 1-1 in the 13th minute.
Ingolstadt certainly made a match of things, but a screamer from Xabi Alonso three minutes into the second half put the hosts in front and then Rafinha on a counter attack scored his first goal since April 2013 from similar length six minutes from time.
Next up is a midweek match in the Bundesliga against Hertha Berlin at the Allianz at 1:30pm CT on FS1.
