After just eight months, Atlanta United announced head coach Gabriel Heinze has been relieved of his duties, effective immediately.
According to the press release from the club, “a variety of issues relating to the day-to-day leadership of the team led the club to this decision.”
Atlanta United President Darren Eales said, “This was certainly not a decision we wanted to make at this point in our season, but it was the right one for the club. Gabi is a talented coach and is undeniably passionate about his craft and the sport of soccer.”
Heinze had led the club to only two MLS wins to start the season. The club was winless in the last eight matches, the last win was 1-0 win over CF Montreal on May 15th more than two months ago.
He departs with a 2-4-7 record for the 2021 MLS Regular Season and a 4-4-8 record across all competitions.
