No surprise here with the naming of Dairon Aspirilla into this Week’s MLS Team of the Week. With a bicycle kick, the man stunned all of Providence Park and sealed the win for the Portland Timbers.
The win gives the Timbers a grasp of fourth place with 49 points, thanks to Diego Chara and Dairon Aspirilla’s scores with the latter’s goal became the insurance goal in a 2-0 win, eliminating the San Jose Earthquakes from postseason contention.
This goal was Dairon’s 10th of the season and his third Team of the Week in this 2021 season. He was previously featured in Weeks 18 and 28, and becoming the eighth player of the Portland Timbers to score more than ten goals in a single MLS season.
