A near win for the Portland Timbers, frustrated by a late Revolution rally

Finally, Jeremy Ebobisse broke the Portland Timbers scoring drought of 319 minutes, as the man being on target twice, almost delivered what could been an important win.

Therefore, in the end, The New England Revolution rally spoiled the party for the Rose City side.

However, controversy is becoming the best ally of the Rose City side, with a foul inside the area over the Revolution Wilfred Zahibo from Larry’s Mabiala, the game official went to consult VAR.

As a result, this set the stage for Revs Carles Gil PK, to even it up on the 90+7 minute.

With a scoreless first half and a Timbers somehow making a strong presence, after the break, everyone knew of what the Timbers and Revolution consequently were looking for the win.

In the 49’ minute a nice cross from Jorge Villafaña, that Jeremy Ebobisse header going out of reach of New England Revolution goalkeeper Brad Knighton, most noteworthy getting beat.

No Later than 32 minutes later in the 81’ once again, Jeremy Ebobisse came in the clutch with a strange and unorthodox kick, putting the Portland side with a 2-0 lead.

Still, this match was not over yet and with a reaction from the Revolution and these went to work in a well-executed play when New England Argentine play-maker, Gustavo Bou score.

Putting this match within the New England reach and trailing by just a goal.

As VAR is not applied on the Portland Timbers and for other teams playing agasint, this rule is immediately put under effect, I believe this is not fair for the Rose City side.
