Photo Gallery: Seattle Sounders 3-0 Tigres UANL

SEATTLE, WA–Seattle Sounders FC thumped Tigres UANL of Liga MX, 3-0, in their quarterfinal of the Leagues Cup competition between sides from Major League Soccer and Liga MX. Raul Ruidiaz opened the scoring with a “Paneka” from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute. It is Ruidiaz’s 54th goal in all competitions for the Sounders.

Fredy Montero doubled the advantage for the Sounders in the 64th minute with his 65th Sounders goal in all competitions. Six minutes later, Nicolas Lodeiro concluded the scoring with his 44th all-time as a Sounder.

It is the Sounders’ fifth win all-time against a Liga MX side and they move on to the League Cup semifinals against the winner between Orlando City SC and Santos Laguna. Date and time to be announced, but what was announced was that the September 15th match against Vancouver Whitecaps has now be re-scheduled for October 9th at 6pm PT at Lumen Field.

The Sounders’ next match is back in MLS play down I-5 to take on Portland on Sunday for a 5:30pm PT kickoff on FS1. The dynamic duo providing the photos were Melissa Levin and Emma Ottosen. Below are their photos from the night at Lumen Field:
