Houston Dynamo 2-Orlando City SC 1
The Houston Dynamo got a well-deserved win on Saturday night to get three important points, which
keeps them with possibilities to access the playoffs. Alberth Elis and Christian Ramirez scored within a 3-
minute span to comeback from an early Orlando goal and win their second match under interim coach
Davy Arnaud.
There was a rough start for the home team, who saw themselves down after Dom Dwyer opened-up the
score early in the match. The Orlando City forward found the ball inside the box and put it in at the sixth minute.
After that goal, the Lions, who were led by Portuguese international Nani, tried to control the
possession of the ball and use counter attacks as their strategy to double the lead. However, the Orange
had different plans. The pressure and intensity they showed to recover the ball help Houston to create
some opportunities in offense. And even though Mauro Manotas had a clear chance to tie the match,
the partial score at the half was 0-1.
In the second half, Dynamo coach Arnaud got Jose ‘Memo’ Rodrigues into the match and that changed
the offensive dynamic for the home team. Shortly after he got into the match, the Dynamo found the
equalizer via Elis. Only three minutes later, Manotas crossed the ball inside the box to find Ramirez and
gave the lead to a Houston team that battle and fight to get the three points.
Orlando had some chance to tie the score, but the good performance of goalkeeper Joe Willis help his
side keeping the lead.
Now Houston will travel to Los Angeles to face the best MLS team in LAFC on Wednesday 25 th . Orlando meanwhile will travel north to face Cincinnati on Sunday 29th
