Update: Radio reports say log will travel to Columbus BY AIR

Update: A report on KINK radio has now said that the log will be traveling to Columbus by air.

Previously Portland Timbers communications office had confirmed yesterday’s Prost Amerika story that the Timbers victory log will be transported to the MLS Cup final in Columbus by road.

Daimler Trucks North America to transport Timbers victory log to Columbus in conjunction with MLS Cup; media sendoff to take place Thursday at Providence Park at 9 a.m.


WHAT:
A Western Star 4900 is bringing the spirit of the Portland Timbers and their fans cross-country by transporting Timber Joey’s victory log from its home at Providence Park in downtown Portland to Columbus, Ohio. The log will make the trip across the country to be with the club and its supporters as the Timbers square off against Columbus Crew SC in MLS Cup on Sunday, Dec. 6. The log is expected to arrive in Columbus by Saturday, Dec. 5. Western Star Trucks is a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America.

WHO: Timber Joey and Daimler Trucks North America representative Paige Jarmer will be on hand to see the log off on its journey to Columbus from Providence Park. Andy Johnson, Brand Manager for Western Star, will also be on hand to answer questions about the “Stars and Stripes” Western Star truck.

WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 3; 9 a.m. (Pacific)

WHERE: 20th and Morrison Plaza at Providence Park
