FC Cincinnati 0-Real Salt Lake 3

Four game losing streak? Over! First road win of the season? Over! It has been a very big week for Real Salt Lake but a positive one. On Friday the Salt Lake side earned the 3-0 win against FC Cincinnati to keep the positive run of form going.

Albert Rusnak scored twice for RSL (42′ and 59′) giving him four goals on the season. Sam Johnson added a third with his strike just before halftime. Goalkeeper Andrew Putna, getting his first start of the season for Nick Rimando, was on point for the visitors making one save to earn the clean sheet.

With the win RSL (3-4-1, 10 points) earns their first road win of the season and gets into the seventh spot in the Western Conference standings. They will hope that their positive road form continues next Sunday when they take on the Galaxy (8pm EST/5PM PST, FS1).

As for Cincinnati (2-4-2, 8 points) they have now lost three of their last four games and have scored just one goal during that time frame. It doesn’t get any easier for the expansion side as they travel to Red Bull Arena on Saturday to take on New York (7pm EST, ESPN +).
